My name is Gina Marie Murphy and I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC).  Some fun facts about me: I like to dance, I curse way too often than I would like to admit, I have a wacky & fun family, and I absolutely love green olives.  I am also a Level 2 Reiki Practitioner. There you go - hire me as your therapist!

Some important information:

Education: I graduated from Saint Joseph's University with my bachelor's of science in psychology and minor in sociology.  I then attended Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) and received my master's of science in Clinical Health Psychology and Counseling.  While studying at PCOM, I was trained in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) & completed the addiction's track. Since then, I have completed Postpartum Support International's 2 day certificate of completion program and have plans to complete the advanced training this year. My long-term goal is to acquire my Perinatal Mental Health Certification in the near future.

Experience: I have been in the mental health and counseling field since 2013. I have worked with individuals (both adolescents and adults) and families. Throughout my journey, I have found that I am passionate about women's issues, particularly life transitions, relationship issues, and perinatal mental health (pregnancy, prenatal, postpartum). I have also helped men with life transitions, anxiety, depression, as well as navigating new parenthood. 

Treatment modalities & the like: My therapeutic approach is person-centered. I am well versed in CBT, Mindfulness Cognitive Therapy, and trauma-informed care.  I strive to help my clients reconnect with tasks that once brought them joy and fulfillment.
